Harley Davidson Fender – Cory Friesen

20150416_183237Another cool project completed. This time I was asked to convert an original, plain black Harley Davidson front tin into a striking visual tribute.

Cory Friesen, from Grande Cache, AB, saw my art after a Harely Davidson garage event, seeing the posts I had online from the event. His idea was to add a full length portrait of his wife to the back of the fender and a replication of a tattoo she designed for him, on the front half. The picture for the back half of the fender was taken by Anna Kraig of Rebel Angel Photogrpahy. It is such an excellent photo for reference!

The paint used is all from Createx, using their Wicked and Auto ranges. A sweet cobalt blue to deep violet fade surrounds the images, which is such a cool colour to add next to black. First coat was a metallic flake and fine pearl white, adding a little luminesence to the top coats. Final coast of clear total 8, for a deep shine. The brushes used were a combination of Iwata HP-C, HP-AH and Kustom TH.

Huge thanks to Darrell from Extreme Collision and Custom for the final clearing, to Anna Kraig of Rebnel Angel Photography, Mrs Friesen for the tattoo artwork and Cory Friesen for the idea and commission.
