This painting began as a demonstration piece for the BNI group of which I am a member. Some of my fellow members and good friends wished to see how I create the paintings I do, so one meeting I took along my airbrushes to help them see what I do in my studio. I took the close up image as far as I could within 2 hours, then completed the painting over the next few days. Eyes are such an incredible subject to paint, they are the windows to the soul and express so much by doing very little. The original subject is our nephew, Reuben, with the reference image being taken by his mother, Jess. His utter trust and affection for his mother is clearly expressed and it is my hope that I managed to capture his feelings.
The original is greyscale Createx acrylics on a 12×24 inch on canvas, painted using my Iwata HP-C and HP-AH airbrushes, with hand detailing to finish.
Limited edition print runs are limited to 100 on Canvas and 295 on Heavy Art Paper. Each limited edition print is signed by the Artist and includes the print number and a document of authenticity.
