Nominations and Awards

July 2016

I am so honoured to be able say that WiRD Art has been nominated for an award! Every year the Kamloops Chamber of Commerce recognises the hard work of those in the business community. I am so happy to say that we are up for Small Business of the Year! It was a complete surprise and looking forward to the next stage even getting to this point is fantastic. I look forward to helping more people to realise the vision in their mind!

Wow! What a week it has been! I received some wonderful news about ‘Cory’s Angels’, the custom Harley which I was asked to provide the paint for. Its owner, Cory Friesen is taking the bike to the Sturgis Rally in August 2016. Before doing so, he unveiled is new, tricked out ride, at his local Grande Cache show n shine. He won an award for his work! I am so stoked to have been asked to provide the art for this project, it was an absolute pleasure to create. Check out the ride here.

It has been a pleasure to be a part of the annual Williams Lake Art walk. We had a selection of airbrushed portraits on view at Williams Lake Ford showroom. At the end of the event, we picked up 2nd best in show! First place went to a wonderful local quilter, who had some stunning quilts with some beautiful 3D elements.

March 2014

I have won an award! I am delighted to say that I have been awarded the peoples choice award at the annual Kamloops Arts Council’s Art Exposed exhibition. I took down two pieces for display, a portrait of my grandfather and ‘Radiance’, a black and white corset painting, both from my own collection.

Radiance caught the eye of many attendees and was voted for by the public. Check it out here.

A huge thank you to all who attended and voted, you have may me feel very humble and thankful.
