How to capture the beauty of the female of the species? A question that has been asked by artists throughout history! Here is one of my attempts and probably will not be the last. Love is an emotion which leads you to many different places and this piece was created to show my love and appreciation of my partner. I cant quite remember whose idea it was first, but she consented for me to create this image, although she wasn’t sure where I was headed with it at first! I believe the image in my head was always going to be black and white, a great way to depict texture and strong lighting holds a certain fascination for me. However, Izzy trusted my vision, and I am happy to say that she is mildly pleased with the result, well, that may be a small understatement…..
This piece is on canvas, 14″ x 18″, airbrushed createx acrylic with hand finished detailing. As an experiment, i thought I would add more texture by punching the eyelets into the canvas and threading in some silk ribbon. As with many experiments, the first hole was a disaster and almost ruined the piece. I managed to tear the canvas, so had to affect a repair and re-touch an area of the piece. I was devastated to begin with, but am very glad I persevered.
Limited edition print runs are limited to 100 on Canvas and 295 on Heavy Art Paper. Each limited edition print is signed by the Artist and includes the print number and a document of authenticity.
